I never thought about how long it takes the caterpillar to become a butterfly. It can take weeks or months (some even over a year!)  for it to be fully ready to emerge as a new creature. This is a very long time in the life of an insect. It’s a good reminder that just because I decide (finally) that I am not going to fight change anymore…maybe even embrace it…it does not mean that the change will happen instantly. Sometimes it takes a seemingly long time, where nothing seems to be changing. But it is, and sometimes I am the last to know because others will see the results of my slow change before I do.
